Default Shorty Forty Help

Hey guys,

I am a new owner of a Shorty Forty pistol made in 1996 or so. I took it out to the range yesterday and shot it at 7 yards with PMC 180gr ammo. The pistol felt awesome but the shots were landing about 10 inches below where I was aiming.

Anyone know if I am using wrong weight ammo, need a sight adjustment or is there another problem here? I believe the problem is not my shooting.

Appreciate all the advice.
Thanks!
Mike

Are you aiming with the target on top of your sights or covered by the sights?
It could be the gun was set up to cover the sights and if you put the target on top of the sight picture the shots would go down.
Did I say that right???

Try different kinds of ammo, and if it is still doing it, have someone else who you know to be a good shooter give it a try. Are you shooting from a bench rest, or off-hand? If you both get the same results, have a gunsmith check it out.

My 40's (4006 & Sigma 40VE) are both ammo sensitive. The 4006 likes Winchester Ranger XST Law Enforcement (usta be called Black Talons) and the Sigma prefers Federal 180 gr. Personal Defense JHP.

I am shooting offhand. I will try different type of ammo on Thursday. Thanks. My father shot it and had the same result, both of those have been shooting for years. Will update on thursday.
