Default 45 Auto Ammo

WOOT! WOOT! My local Wal-Mart hasn't had any .45 auto ammo in about 1 1/2 years. Any time I have been in there, I would go by just to see the empty spot in the case. Today they actually had two 100 round Winchester white box for $32 each, which I promply bought. Was this just a coincidence or could we see ammo becoming available again? They also had some .40 & 9mm.

The local Farm and Fleet had several sizes on the shelf yesterday, mostly Winchester White Box. First time in a long time.

I think it's worse around here. I got one box of Remington 100 for $38.95 at WM. Got 1 Box of Federal 50rd for$15.00 at a different WM. That's the only stuff I found since last year.

Between visits to my local W/M's I have been able to purchase enough 9mm, .223, .308, and .38 special to get to the range as well as have enough brass for reloading. On several recent visits I kept seeing 9mm on the shelf, but then it was gone when I last stopped by. Now I have enough of all calibers and can walk by without purchasing more.

The WWB ammo in 9, 40 and 45 have been showing up at WM's around here for about the past three weeks although not on a regular basis.

What has not been showing up are 38 and 357's, until yesterday. I found 100 round boxes of WWB, 38's, 130gr fmj's, for $28.

Things are looking up!

Yesterday at Wal-Mart I found three 100 rd. boxes of WWB 230 gr. FMJ at $34/box. Last week at another Wal-Mart I found the six boxes of the same ammo at the same price along with one box of WWB 230 gr. JHP at $28/box. At both Wal-Mart's I found WWB .40 S&W 180 FMJ and JHP. I don't remember the price. They had Federal .40 S&W in 50 rd. boxes for $15/box. The Federal 9mm was $10/50 rds. and the Winchester 9mm was 13/50 rds. There was no .22LR available. There was plenty of .223 at around $10/20 rds. There was 130 gr. .38 Special but no .357 Magnum. There was a few boxes of .44 Magnum. There was a lot of various types of hunting ammunition for rifles and shotguns.

Back in May I couldn't find any .40 or 9mm @ Walmart. They did have several boxes of 45-70 and .303 British. Go figure.

Yes; learn to reload. It's fun, relaxing, and saves tons o money. Sort of like snappin yer own beans on the front portch.

I must admit the thought of a nice Dillon in .45 ACP and some extra heads in .40 S&W and .38 Special is starting to look real good. It would be nice to be able to have a little choice in what loads were available for shooting. 230 gr. FMJ in .45 are not so hot for hunting. A nice 200 gr. SWC would cut a neat hole in the target paper... makes scoring so much easier. Maybe I'll get some money for my birthday so that I can buy a press. Oh well, just thinking out loud. Sincerely. brucev.
