Question SW99-40 or SW40VE?

Ok, here's the question:
VG Condition SW99-40 LEO turn in with 2 LE Mags for 327.00. out the door at my FFL's shop. . . . Or. . .
New SW40VE from Online Store through my FFL for 320.00 - current S&W Rebate of 50.00 bucks. Which makes it 270.00 by the time I get the rebate back.
He says he doesn't care as long as I'm happy.
I have the SW9VE and love it, but the 99 feels great too and I am wondering if it was a higher quality gun to start with or not.
Which should be the wiser purchase.

I'd probably go for the SW99 myself. Is the $320 an "out the door" price, or is he going to add tax and fees?

With that said, you can get the SW40VE for $299.00 (Delivered, no sales tax)-- less the $50 rebate, you're at $249 + whatever your FFL charges for the paperwork. (mine charges $10-$15 depending on his mood)

S&W SW40VE .40SW Black/Stainless for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $299.00

Yes Rick, that's OTD price including $23.00 tax. No transfer fee if I buy it from him. He will charge $20.00 if I buy it from Bud's, which is the way I bought the SW9VE through him. He doesn't really care either way. I'm just debating if a used 99 is a better quality buy than a new Sigma. Not realiabilty, just say, longevity maybe.

I have not ever owned a 99; it is no doubt a "better" pistol-- but the Sigma is damn good value. I'd think a "mate' for the 9 would be nice.

I don't think you can make a wrong decision here. Surely, some with knowledge of both will chime in soon. With that small of difference in price, the 99 would pique my interest.

If you decide to go with the sigma, I would take the extra mags instead of the $50. It will increase the value of the sigma with the extra mags. Just at thought.

I would go for the Sigma with the extra mags. They are great pistols for the money. Some don't like the stiff trigger pull but I didn't have any trouble getting use to it. Just shoot it and the trigger will get a little better.

I would get the 99 since you already have a sigma. Both are great though so you can't really go wrong.

I have both a SW40GVE and a Walther P99AS, very similar to the SW-99.
I only bought the Sigma because it would be a good, cheap "truck gun" and the ergos fit my hand perfectly.
Before I shot the Sigma, the Walther was my favorite semi-auto.

A few weeks ago, I was at the range with both guns. The Walther is my sometimes carry gun, but I was still trying to find out if the "cheap" gun was still reliable with hollow points (it has been so reliable, I was sure it would eventually fail me).

Long story short, I hit the target easily and quickly with the "cheap" Sigma. The Walther, with its superior trigger pull, took a lot more effort to get good groups
After shooting several hundred rounds from both guns, I was forced to admit my beloved Walther was inferior to the cheap truck gun (sigh).
I also do not find the Sigma to be hard to conceal in an IWB holster; however, I'm 6'1", 240 lbs.
The Sigma is also now my bedside gun.

You usually get what you pay for. But once in a while, you get much more than you pay for.

I was set on the S&W99 before I bought my Sigma. Couldn't stand the mag release on it so I went with the Sigma.
