Default SW9VE exploded view?

Hello, I haven't checked in for a while, but I just bought an SW9VE from Buds but I can't find an exploded view drawing with a parts list anywhere. It isn't in the on line owners manual.
I keep reading you can improve the trigger pull by removing one coil spring ( the one pinned aby the bottom rear of the grip) but I need confirmation from members that it is do able without negative consequences and an exploded view to understand more what I would be doing. It wasn't listed in FAQS.
Thanks for any replys... 1magi

Thank you Rick-F, I watched that on a lead from another post, it looks simple. I had read two comments though saying they had a problem with releasing the trigger and it not wanting to reset. They both could have been referring to the same post. I am looking for an exploded parts view/ list to see what that coil spring is called and I would like to know it's intended function. Have you tried this mod on yours? and does anyone know where to find an exploded view?
I may pull the spring just as a test and run a couple of box's of factory ammo through it to see how it feels and functions.
and again thanks for responding.. 1magi

I did the spring mod tonight and it feels pretty solid.

from the sound of it, s&w simply made the trigger mega hard (added a spring) to get out of a glock lawsuit...then passed it off as a 'safety mechanism'.

I'm headed to the range tomorrow with my sw9ve and i'll check it out and report back. if nothing else you could always put the spring back in, no harm no foul

Default spring + exploded view

Yea, that is exactly what I was thinking, if I had a warranty problem with it I could put it back before I sent it in. It isn't my CCW . I am using a Bersa .380 that has acturally been a great litttle gun; reliable, accurate and very concealable.
Anyone know where I an find an exploded view of the SW9VE and corresponding parts list? 1magi

1magi,

You can get the schematics and parts list here for 99¢:

SMITH & WESSON | | ITEM#PDF0467 | e-GunParts.com

I have done this mod and removed the "pigtail" spring and polished all the appropriate parts in the sear block assembly. A simple mod to be sure. I took it to the range yesterday and it truly has made a very positive difference in trigger pull and smoothness. Much, much better-- still looong- but smooth.

I fired about 100 rounds; not one problem with the trigger resetting. However, I was firing inexpensive factory Remington UMC 115 GR. MC-- nothing "hot".

Thanks Rick-F ! I don't know how they or send you a PDF but I ordered it by credit card. Will it show up in my e-mail?
I'll be interested in knowing if it keeps performing well. I think I just have to try it. magi

also went to the range today with the 'pigtail' spring removed and zero problems. I felt an hk p2000 trigger today and made the sigma feel like an 88 ford taurus. Should i send it in to s&w and ask them about a trigger job or do this 'polishing the appropriate parts'?

Actually, I thought you downloaded the PDF file on-the-spot / in real time after you paid-- so you had immediate access to it.

I just rechecked the Numerich order proceedure and it says they will send the PDF to you by e-mail within two days of ordering, or if it is rejected by email they will send you a printed version, so I will wait and see... 1magi

All the exploded views I have found do not show a breakdown of the sear housing assembly block. But anyways I just removed the pigtail spring (green)and polished the sear face. Some folks remove that outer spring (red)or replace it with a ballpoint pin spring. NOT ME!!
I have over 900 rounds down, no FTFs. From what I hear the Wolff stricker spring can cause light strikes.
