Default Looking for info on the 622

I am interested in picking up a 622, but they seem to be a little hard to find. I am specifically looking for the 4.5" model with the 'vented rib' above the barrel. I'm not sure if that's what you call it but hopefully you know what I mean. Can anyone tell me about the production numbers on this specific model, or where I can find one?

Thanks in advance.

The 622 4.5" model with vent rib is going to be a tough one to find. I would say your chances of finding one online would be considerably greater than finding one locally. The last one I saw for sale was on GunBroker . com { S&W Smith & Wesson 622 New in box : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com } . There is a 6" model on Gunsamerica now that is going for $335.00. Couldn't find any production numbers for the 622VR with 4.5" barrel.

I'm bumping a very old thread because I still have yet to find any further info on this weapon, despite quite a bit of searching. Nor have I found one for sale anywhere, despite multiple attempts over the last few years. Does anyone know how many of these were manufactured? Does anyone know of one for sale locally? Thanks.
