Default Tulsa Police 4046! Surprise! Surprise!

I'd previously posted pic's of a "prototype" 4046 DOA, that had been evaluated by Sgt. John Kaczmarek of the Tulsa Police on the following post;
"Sample - Test - Evaluation" 4046 DOA

On a hunch, I'd taken the S&W letter(s) to Tulsa's Wannemacher gun show along with a copy of Tulsa's 100th Police Anniversary book.

There he was, the ex: Rangemaster himself selling a few handguns; now retired, John Kaczmarek and more than willing to autograph my letters and my book.
What was a somewhat unique DAO now has a "little" history to go along with it... Thanks John...

Hello Pre-64,

I just acquired a 4046...still waiting for it to arrive from Nevada. I'm curious to learn if you know who made this excellent looking shoulder holster? It is of my own style, minimalist and machine sewn.

I believe this gun is a 3rd generation. I'm attached the AA pictures for reference. I will be very curious to learn from everyone how to best clean it up and evaluate it. I already have Houge replacement grip for the cracked Delrin and ordered 2 used SS mags from CTD.

I'm most concerned about the springs...I do know how to get replacements from Wolff.

Of all the metal polishes, do you have a recommendation?

I told my brother that if this used to be a cop's gun, that brownish looking stain on the back of the slide just might be coffee...might even find powdered sugar inside the slide.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,
It is a nice match for my S&W 4046 isn't it!
The holster is stamped "AKER" San Diego California. Model 101; 4046...

Thanks,

Wait until you find some glaze crumbs. They wreak havoc with the internals. You don't know whether to eat them or clean them.

I have the identical rig. I bought it about 15 years ago when I bought my 5906. Works with a 4006 just as well.
