Default Anybody shoot/own just one style of S+W pistol?

I didn't intentionally set out to end up with this configuration but here I am with three single-stack 9's and they are my only S+W autos. The 3913 was one I had always wanted and finally traded into one about a year ago. Every time I went to the range I shot it more and liked it more! Last week I happened upon what I thought was a pretty good deal and bought a pair of 3953's. I could actually see myself going the same route if another good deal came my way. A deal presenting itself on a 3903/3906 or any 3900 series and I would probably "pull the trigger" again. I am not pigeon-holing my collection on purpose, though, as I am still on the lookout to buy or trade into some .45 model or another if/when the right deal presents itself. (No interest in anything in .40 or 10mm...at least for now!)

I know there are members with multiples of a single or similar model, but does anyone specifically concentrate on one model and keep adding to it? Again, I didn't set out to own only 3900 series, it just happened that way for me, but does anyone's collection resemble mine by design?

I've been hooked on 3rd Gen DAO's since 1991, especially the .45's.

39-2, 639, 3904, 3906, 3913NL - I like single stack S&Ws in 9mm. The ergonomics are just right on these pistols.

Sorry, I have found it impossible to fire just one style of S&W pistol. I have just added three different 3rd gen DAO to the collection, 1086, 4546 and 4046 to compliment the 5906, 1076, 4516, 1006. And the 645.

jsbethel; I definitely agree. I don't think my hands are particularly small, I just like the fit and feel of the single-stack.

sniper; nice collection. I expect mine will eventually have more variety, too. I've become more and more interested in the 3rd gen. Smiths since I 'allowed myself' to stray from 1911's. (For a while they were my only autos.) Like I said, I didn't plan it that way...just wondering if anyone did plan their collection that way. I liked the idea of the 3953 but wasn't necessarily on the hunt for one - or two! - but the deal (and timing) seemed right.

Cool

No planning for me. I'm an equal opportunity shooter,
with an S&W 639, a Colt .380 Govt, and a Ruger ,22.
I like the Smith 639 the best though, for it's SA/DA
action and all-stainless with walnut grips looks.

If a good deal pops up, and cash is in hand, it's hard
to pass up no matter if you already have one (or two).
Stock up, I say!

Once I discovered the 3rd Gen Smith's, my intention was to pick up the all stainless steel version--which started with trading a model LNIB 459 towards purchasing a NIB 5906 (and adding Crimson Trace Lasergrips) for home-defense. Got a great deal on a 2206 this summer, for my son to learn on when he gets old enough. So naturally in my search for a 45, I had started my search with the 4506. However, I wasn't particularly fond of the longer barrel length, so I picked up the 4566 instead. So I guess it isn't the style, but actually the material and barrel length. As the 2206, 5906 and 4566TSW are all stainless steel, and all have barrel's around 4". Go figure the next Smith I'm hoping to add to my collection is a 66 with 4" barrel.

Don't own or shoot but one S&W it's a 5903 TSW trade from Gwinnett Co. and, for a double stack it's not a lot heavier than my P6. Sights are dead but, don't have anyone locally who can install new ones for a decent price but I can still shoot it as accurately as anything else I have. However like you I could be persuaded to trade it if the right deal came along.

Surprised not more response. To be honest, I expected a few would have M&P's only, such as a 9mm full-size with a 9c, or a full-size M&P in each caliber, but I wouldn't have been surprised by a couple 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-gen only, specific caliber-only, CS-only, DAO-only, etc.

My PLAN, as of now, is to add only single-stack 9mm and .45's. That still leaves me a lot of options!

I also like the 39 series as well as the 59's. Most of my remaining pistols are second generation with a couple of 39-2's, which I truly love. The third generations are fine also, just not my favorites for some silly reasons.
