Default SW 99 Serial Numbers

Does anyone know what the range of serial numbers for the SW99 is and what to what year(s) they may apply? I have an SAA2930.

Thank you.

My SW99 has a sn of SAJ97XX and was shipped in November 2005. I don't know if that helps you much. If you have the original box it will have a julian date code on it. There is a thread on the forum that tells you how to decode it (I can't remember where right now, but someone else will probably post it). With that you can get the exact ship day.

Thank you, the box does not have its original label on it. I like the double action feel of this pistol. I was trained on and carried the model 39, nearly 30 years ago. The 99 made a nice upgrade.

I'm an SAJ, and my weapon was manufactured and test fired at S&W August 31, 2005. If you call Smith&Wesson, they can usually tell you to the day when your weapon left the plant.

My SAE02xx has a date on the box of January 9, 2003.

According to the Bible, all SW99 production took place between 1999 and 2004.
