I'm sorry to hear about your problem, and I'm also sorry that I can't help you with the spring info.
But...
Next time you're working on something with springs under tension, take a light bed sheet and just drape it over you and your workspace, just for those moments when you're assembling or disassembling. If the spring takes off, it will be held captive by the sheet and hopefully not get lost.
My niece thought I was playing "Ghost", but unlike a ghost, my flying springs didn't vanish into thin air. Hope this advice helps someone down the line...
