Magazine jamming up when loading???
Okay I bought 2 brand new S&W magazines for Model 6906. All the new mags are 12 round. While loading up the first magazine the bullets get stuck on about the fourth bullet. I took the magazine apart and didnt see anything wrong with anything. Put the mag back together and its still doing the same thing. I tried the other new magazine and it did the same thing. The original mag is brand new too but I am not having that problem with it besides the second bullet falling out if I drop the mag on a loaded chamber. Am I missing something here? The gun and all the magazines are brand new old stock. Thanks!

There was a batch of 6906 mags with this problem that hit the market a year or two ago, IIRC. These mags had dual-sided mag slots for LH setup, and I believe it was the bottom of the magazine follower (front 2 legs) that was getting caught in the mag catch slots. The solution was to round off the corners of the front follower legs so that they didn't catch. Midway had them for sale for around $25 at the time.
Hopefully that's all that's going on with yours, it's an easy fix.

You may find that the front "legs" of the followers are getting caught on the magazine catch cut-outs and may need filing down a bit.

I figured that was the problem. They are fixed now but wow they were expensive when I bought them. About $60 dollars a magazine.

Yes that was the problem. I would expect this on a cheap off brand magazine but these are S&W magazines and they were not cheap!

To give S&W credit, they did originally offer these at a discount because of the oversight in production. It was the retailer who hiked the price up on you, due to current demand for these mags and the concern that S&W is no longer making them. Assuming you didn't buy these directly from S&W, of course...

I guess the 6906 magazines are something of a rare bird these days. I cant find them anymore.

They do seem scarce, and that's probably why the price on yours was so high, even though it was technically a 'factory second.' At least you got a magazine that was factory new with the latest revisions, and all you had to do was round off those corners on the follower legs. I bet there's some folks out there who are jealous of you!
