sw40ve spring question

a little backstory first. i had disassembled the trigger group on my sw40ve and removed the pigtail spring. as i was putting it back together the inner spring for the sear shot off into oblivion. i have searched high and low and all points in between to no avail. i have resigned myself to ordering a new one and thats where things get a little sticky. both brownells and smith and wesson list over a dozen springs for my pistol. but neither website has a pic to compare to. anybody happen to know what they call that inner spring? thanks!

p.s. its the longer, skinnier of the two springs underneath the sear.

anybody at all know what this spring is called? i really need to know. i need to get this squared away. other than a mossberg this pistol is my only defense weapon. it is my ccw weapon as well. i would really appreciate if somebody could help me out.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem, and I'm also sorry that I can't help you with the spring info.

But...

Next time you're working on something with springs under tension, take a light bed sheet and just drape it over you and your workspace, just for those moments when you're assembling or disassembling. If the spring takes off, it will be held captive by the sheet and hopefully not get lost.

My niece thought I was playing "Ghost", but unlike a ghost, my flying springs didn't vanish into thin air. Hope this advice helps someone down the line...

Are you refering to the spring inside the sear housing block assembly?? ( fig#12) If so try S&W . I would guess it is an assembly and the spring is not seperate.

I've done that before when "repairing" ? things.

Seems the older I get the more it happens ... wonder if there is a relation ?/

yeah its the spring inside the sear housing block assembly. and it looks like i am gonna have to order the whole assembly. oh well!! lesson learned i guess. and you can believe i will be playing "ghost" next time i am "repairing" anything! lol thanks for the help guys!
