457 Love
My 457 was the first semi auto that I bought and have always loved it. I know it is not the most desirable model but it has always been a straight shooter and carried well.
The original blued finish was starting to show plenty of wear and some slight rust so I figured I would take my first crack at some custom smithing.
I did a "melted" carry styling to rid her of her blocky figure. Then sent the slide, internals, and controlls to Robar for some NP3 treatment. I think the end result came out great, what do you think?

nice looking gun
I have a blue 457 and it's a good pistol. It's easy to conceal and it packs a good punch with 230 jhp's. I like the look on yours.

If I did not have a 4513, 4516, 645, and a 1911sc, I would certainly have a 457.

The picture does not show the details very well but thanks for the compliments folks!
JFD I left the frame alone. My frame is alloy and its color matches fairly close to the NP3 coating. So I chose Robar's Norton Special which is all parts but the frame and magazine.
I had it done about three years ago so I am not sure what I paid then. However current pricing shows that the Norton Special is $175.

Did you recontour the slide to match a 4516?
I have a 908 and would like to reshape the slide to the same contour as the 3913 so I do not have to buy holsters made just for the 908.
You have a good looking pistol there.

Looks like my 4516. I like her curves on the grip. Did it come with that grip?

It does look like a lot like the 4516 with my mods but I did not initially go for that. It certainly does look like one! I appreciate the compliments though.
The grips are Hogue. I too like their looks. I also have a big mitt and they seem to fill my hand like no other brand.
Hogue grips cover most of my pistols whether they are wheel gun woodies or rubber auto grips.
I am a big fan of Hogue grips.

Very nice, I have a 457 and 4516, When I bought the 457 I had meprolights put on it, love to carry it as its lighter than the 4516, great gun. I've looked at the hogue grips several times, but haven't tried them yet. Mine just has the slip on.

Very nice...anybody have a 457 and a CS45? I'd like to see a side by side comparison. I'm thinking my new CS45 could use some company...

457 Hogue Grip and 10rd magazine
I recently purchased a Hogue grip and a 10rd magazine off the internet. I wished the magazine had a filler at the bottom. I don't like the look of the exposed shiney metal.
