Default M 41 Barrel Question

Is there any disadvantage (other than perhaps, less value) to a used 41 that has a barrel other than the one that came with it from the factory? Less accurate or dependable? Also: Would you rule out buying a M 41, 5.5" that had been used in competition but is otherwise in good shape?

I would not buy it if it did not include the extra barrel unless it was priced real low, like under $500. I would also be a bit leary of a gun used extensively for competition unless, again, it was priced low enough.

I am not certain how you would know what length barrel came on the pistol unless you had the original box or a factory letter. You might be able to determine that what you had was a newer barrel, but still wouldn’t know what came with the pistol. I have a couple of period barrels that could have come on my M41s, only I know what was there to begin with and my memory is fading. I could swap barrels of the same length and still not know if it was original.

As for accuracy I don’t know why the current barrel is suspect.
