Well since I bought my first 3rd gen S&W pistol I seem to be hooked.
Ive added a 3914 and a 3913 now looking at a 5903 any thoughts on this model, It is the TSW? These 3rd gens run right with my sig 239 Only complaint is chasing the brass, not like a wheel gun at the range.
got the third gen bug bad may be Ill add a 940 to the collection

With the exception of the 6906 almost all of the 3rd generation Smiths' became TSW series in '98-99. I like to refer to them as "4th generation" because of the upgrades. Some of the early TSW guns don't have the light rail, it shows up on 2000 and newer guns. The 910s is the current variation of the 5903, stainless slide on alloy frame. The 940 is a nice little gun but the prices have gone through the roof on them in the last few years.
I have one of these that I bought as a PD trade in it is a great shooter I however do not like the break down. I got spoiled on the way the Sigs break down and re-assemble. Like I said though I cannot fault the way it shoots it's every bit as good as any other gun I have and as accurate.
I bought a police trade 5903 also. It's from the county police dept where I live. It's a good shooter and it's also in very good condition. I paid only $325 cash for it. I replaced the recoil spring and installed the hogue rubber grips. I also picked up some new mags and I'm still under $400. Having said that I wouldn't mind running across a 5903 TSW that needs a home.
