Default Slide not locking back

Last time I took my sw9ve out, the slide would not lock back after last round on both of my mags. I've owned this gun for about 10 months and I only load 15 rounds in the 16 round mag(all I could get to fit). Are my mags bad?

How many rounds have you put in your gun so far? My slide didn't lock for the 1st 150-200 rounds then it when away.

One of my mags was very hard to get that 16th round in there but I was able to make it work. After leaving it loaded for a while it is easy to put the last round in there.

Are you using full pwer commercial ammo or light loads? The slide has to be driven all the way back to lock.
Be sure it is clean and lubed on 4 frame points.
Also take magazines apart and clean. CRC silicone sprayed on all parts and wiped dry works well.

Now put empty magazine in gun and pull back by hand. Did it lock? If yes, now put a round in the mag and fire it. Did it lock back on firing? If no, try full-power commercial ammo.

It was the 2nd time taking it out. So rounds 150-300. I'll reserve then until I can shoot it some more and see if it still does it.

I also have an SW9VE, which I have had for about a year. I had the same problem until I realized that the grip I was using caused my thumb to press against the magazine release. Moved my thumb and all was well.

You might be doing the same thing.
