Default 3rd Generation wood grips?

Anyone dabbled with the wood replacement grips for say a 5906?

Just curious how you like them?

I just put a set of Hogue's on a 4506 and like them. They are pretty well made and nicely finished. They don't mate up quite as nice as Ahrends revolver grips, for comparison, but I think they're close enough.

I find the plastic 4506 grip too narrow, and the woods feel like they may be just a tad too wide, but I haven't shot the gun yet. Since the 5906 is starting out wider than a single stack 45, I don't know what that means about the feel of wood on a double stack 9, but someone who knows will probably chime in.

Here's a pic. I have no idea why all my pics show up as cheesy thunmbnails while others can post a real pic in a thread.

Those are nice grips! Pictures show up full size when you insert a link from a different provider (click on the little icon of mountains then paste the url).

They are Hogue's.

I actually made two consecutive posts because I couldn't figure out how to edit a pic into the first post. Answer to your question is in the first post.

I hope to shoot it this weekend and update my opinion.
