Just got 6946 smith, info or help please
Has anyone owned a model 6946 out there? Just bought my first one. I am used to my 908 w/manual safety, how will this pistol differ from 908 and will it be a good choice for ccw? It's my first DAO.Is it similar to a glocks action?
Thanks,
Eddie

I don't know if I would say it's similar to a Glock's action but the manual of arms is similar.
Load it and pull the trigger when you want it to fire. Same trigger pull every time. No safety. No second strike capability.
I carry one every day, pretty much, so I consider it good for CCW.

My 6946 was my first carry gun and I have over 8k+ rounds down the pipe without a failure at all.
You choose a very good carry gun.

Thanks guys for input, so basically a DAO is just like carrying
a revolver. Is the 6946 conceal well under loose button down shirt or t-shirt? Hot here in sunny fla.

I carried one in a police job for some time and it shot like a house on fire. I had no trouble getting it into holsters made for the 3913/3953. The slide is the same, and I had no issues with the trigger guard (round). My favorite for off-duty/CCW is the Alessi Talon Plus holster found occasionally on e-bay..

Lobo Leather has great selections and the owner is a member here.
I carry both my 3913 and my 6906 in the same Lobo IWB all year round.

I had no problems concealing my 6946 with a tshirt. I was using a Don Hume that held the gun tight and high.

Yes. I can't remember the model I think a 711 or something similar. The only drawback is about an inch to inch and a half of the gun sticks out the bottom. I just ordered a Don Hume JIT for my CS9 so that might be a better one yet
