Traded in my Glock
 

I traded in a Glock 19 for a M&P 45. I reload and hated that I couldn't shoot lead bullets from a Glock.But the main reason I did it was to buy American. Hope I made a good trade,won't know til the 10 day wait is up on the 30th.

Ten day wait? By then, you will have sobered up and probably won't want to shoot anybody!

First off welcome to the forum!! I just picked up my first M&P last month, this after years of 3rd generation guns...which are still in the safe!! I was pleasantly surprise with the 40 compact, it seems to be a solid little pistol. After the first range session I realized that this pistol has the heritage of S&W pistols and revolvers that I've become accustom to over the years.

I've never been a fan of the Glocks, however their track records certainly speaks for itself. They have just never fit my hand well. I think you will like the M&P as I do, it doesn't replace my favorite 3rd generation guns as far as favorites but it will be equally as reliable I'm sure.

So, how long did it take for you to realize a Glock was not made in America?
Where was your T.V. made?

Glocks are made in Smyrna, GA.

some may be assembled in america but it's still not an american product.

I own one Glock, a G30sf. It is a great shooting pistol and fits my hand well. I also have a S&W 4586 and a Para Ordnance TAC-Four as well as a Kimber. The Glock is the lightest of all, but also the fattest of all by a good quarter inch. I wonder why Glocks are so thick! I am talking about the slide/reciever part of the gun, not the double stack mag well. Can't see why a Glock needs a thicker steel slide than a 4586.
It makes it less comfortable to conceal than the others, in spite of its low weight.
My Glock has the Smyrna, Ga. address on it as well as the verbage "Made in Austria".

My friend just shot his new M&P 40. He came over to my house immediately afterwards and said he's selling his Glock so he can also buy the M&P 45.

I love my G17. I wouldn't trade it for anything, but if had the money I'd be getting me a M&P40. They're some sharp looking pistols.

i hate to say it but the m&p is the only handgun uglyer than the glock!

they have been importing them that long but i dont think they've been assembling them that long there

Can a M&P.45 dig holes like a Glock?

I just sold my 30sf and bought a m&p .40c. I havent gotten the chance to shoot it yet. I only put about 20 rounds through the Glock. I like glocks but to be honest I cant shoot them well. Now my old Ruger P90 (I believe that is the .40 as the P89 was the pmm) I was a dead aim and for what I had in it I should have never sold it.

So far overall feel I like the M&P much better. Now the real test is finding out if it is going to have the FTF, stovepipe, and FTE like the full sized M&P 9mm I shot at the rangehad. I hope not as I like this pistol.

BTW I think the M&P is a sleek looking pistol.
