Default To shoot or not to shoot??? (a little long)

Hi Guys. New on here, and never really post on forums mainly just look and read. I have to admit right out of the gate that I've never been a huge fan of S&W auto pistols. I had a model 659 years ago, loved the look and feel of the pistol but it was kinda lack luster in the accuracy dept. I shoot alot of indoor Bullseye, so I tend to steer clear of guns that don't hit exactly where you point them (I know, you don't need bullseye accuracy in a carry gun but it's just a me thing). Which brings me to the topic of the thread. I recently picked up a 4563 CQB from a man that was liquidating his entire Performance Center collection, none of which had ever been fired. The gun is absolutely perfect in the box still wrapped in vapor paper. Really like the feel of the gun and it locks up as tight as a safe. Dying to shoot it but wondering if it would be better left unfired. Normally i would tell myself "shoot the hell out of it, that's what it was built for enjoy it", but I'm not sure with this one. Also if you guys can help me with any additional info on the gun it would be appreciated. Searching on here i thought I read where about 200 were made. This one is two tone (alloy frame stainless slide??). Thanks alot for reading.

That's basicly my thoughts. I bought it because it feels good in my hand and judging by fit, it should shoot like a champ. I don't own any "safe queens" not that there's anything wrong with that I just enjoy shooting everything I have.

No disrespect to our collectors, but for me, guns are tools and are meant to be used. I say shoot the %^*# out of it and have fun.

I collect and shoot. I shhot more than I collect. If you address it as a collectable I would research how many made , limited production, discontinued, etc and make a decesion. There could be a million made and in 100 years only 10 that are still new and unfired safe queens will bring a price.
Because I design, build, & test firearms accessories most of my guns get lots of use.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations! There’s no wrong answer, unless you’re unhappy with your decision.

... but you'd be nuts not to shoot it at least once!

Thanks for the feedback guys, it's just the sort of arm twisting I needed. I hope it shoots as good as it feels. Might even head out behind the house after work today and try it out. I'll try to post some pics tonight and let you know how I made out.

Shoot it, you will be glad you did.

I have a prototype CQB 45. It was used in an American Handgunner magazine article. I shoot it and enjoy it. That what they are for. Regards 18DAI.

HAVING A GUN LIKE THAT AND NOT SHOOTING IT IS LIKE BEING MARRIED TO A PLAYBOY CENTERFOLD AND LEAVING HER NEW IN THE BOX.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

I have two PC pistols and that's pretty much all that get to the range.By the way ,are you sure your pistol is unfired. I suspect that it was test fired at the PC before it was released for sale, so there is probably no lost virginity isssue here.[smile]
