s&w cs40 chiefs special

i just bought my first s&m cs40 chiefs special stainless, how do these guns rate, i put 50 rounds through it the other day with no problems, but sites are off and no screw or anything to adjust them, are they adjustable, thanks new guy

They are adjustable by tapping/pushing them in the direction you want the rounds to move. Remember though, a lit bit goes a long way. If you are keeping the rounds on the paper and only need to move the group a small amount, I'd just use an offset aim instead of trying to adjust them.

Before tapping on your sights, confirm the problem by shooting it over a solid rest (sandbag) to eliminate any shooter induced errors. Many complain that their gun shoots low and left...usually an indicator of too much finger on the trigger if you are right handed.
Another suggestion is to have another accomplished shooter fire your gun as well to eliminate shooter induced errors as well.

Hello and welcome to the forum.It may not be the position of the sights.My CS9 was low to point of aim and I accidentally found the "cure" for it when I took off the Novak lo mount sights and replaced them with the Trijicon night sights.This brought it right to point of aim.When others were having the same problem with thier CS9's I told them about my observations and when they did the same thing they had the same result.I do not know if this might be the case with the CS40 but it may be worth a try.If it is still a little off you have nice night sights to adjust.......MIke

You should have got the S&W CS40-- that s&m model is kinky . . .

Two+ Questions--1) Are the sights of all S&W pistols adjustable by drifting the rear sight either right or left. Are they held in place by a screw? My 4566 seems to have immovable rear sights.
2) Is the frame of the CS40 SS or alloy? Is there a CS10mm or being the same bore can the CS40 be modified to shoot the 10mm (the .40 is a little wimpy).

Maybe Brownells has a replacement rear sight that is screw adjustable for elevation and windage. Thor
