SW1911 9mm
Any experience with this model? I like the 1911, and would like to shoot 9mm for economic purposes, especially during classes where there is a high round count, but I've seen Para 9mm 1911's with reliability problems.
I'm planning to order one next week if they have a good reputation. My 1911 Scandium Commander is the best 1911 I've ever owned, even above any Colts, Springfield Armory, Para and Kimber custom shop 1911's I own or have owned.

I have not shot the S&W 1911 in 9mm but do shoot the Springfield Target and Dan Wesson Pointman in 9mm. The Springfield has been totally reliable but not as accurate as the Dan Wesson. The older pre-CZ Dan Wesson Pointman does not have a ramped barrel and I have experienced feeding failures when attempting to use JHP's.

I can't help you with any comments based on experience, but would certainly like to see your comments when you get your pistol. I have been considering one of those, too.
You can search this forum for more info. I have seen others comment on the gun, and the remarks generally seemed favorable. My only concern is the sights, which I do not like. But those can be changed.

I have the Stainless S&W 1911 9mm from the pro shop. While a 1911 doesn't fit my hands very well, I love shooting this gun. Very accurate, low recoil because of the stainless steel frame & very reliable the most reliable 9mm I own.
