Default CS40 night sights - Botach Tactical

Hey all,

I was thinking about ordering Trijicon night sights for the CS40 and saw them on sale at Botach Tactical. I don't know if anyone has ordered from them and what their rep is a retailer. Also I'm not sure which model # to order...can anyone make a suggestion?

Trijicon SA30

Trijicon SA01

Thanks!

Do a search on this forum on their name. You might want to think twice about ordering from them. Personally, I have never had an issue with items ordered from them, but others have.

Yes it seems they are poor about keeping their customers updated on certain products. I didnt really find much other than that...

Also for replacing the sights on the CS40 is it something I can do at home or is it going to be a gunsmith job?

Atlanta_SW40,
I personally have never used them and I don't think that I ever would.
You might want to do a search on the internet using "Botach Tactical Scam" as the search words.
I'm betting that you would not order from them after that search.

Tritium lamps have a useable life of about 12 years. You want to order from someone you can be confident is selling you fresh sights even if they cost a bit more.

Trij sights on a CS must have the dovetails filed to fit and drifted in. This is a process that a gunsmith develops a "feel" for over time. Experience matters in this process. In fact I think it voids the warranty unless a gunsmith does it.

Before you order the three dot Trij sights, You may want to consider the XS Sights 24/7 Express sights. They are a post and dot sight instead of the three dot sight. They also offer two different size front sight. I had Trij on my CS45 and switched to the XS because I found them to be easier and much faster to acquire and line the sights up. This is mine. I used their "Big Dot" front which has a tritium lamp in the center. The rear bar is a vertical tritium lamp.

JFB, it does seem somehow you are the 1 out of 100 reviews I've read that had anything good to say:
Botach Tactical Complaints - Still scamming customers

Apparently they are ripping everyone off, general consumers, law officers, people in the armed forces, all with no conclusion or remorse.

I will definitely stay away from them...

On a side note!!!......

skeeterbait I've never seen sights like that before. How do you line up for a target with those sights? Also do you have a night shot of them glowing by chance?

I do not have a picture of them glowing, sorry. They glow green and are every bit as bright as Trij sights because they use Trij tritium lamps in them. They are heavy duty steel and well made. They should be considered a tactical CQB sight for fast alignment, not a target sight. here is a link you can learn more.

Is it fair to assume that the sights for a CS45 will fit a CS40?

Call and ask. They have more models listed in their catalogue than are on the dropdown of that website.

Wait, check that, their catalogue is now downloadable on that site. The CS40 is listed in there.

Botach is on my department's short list of non-approved vendors. And believe me, you really have to screw the pooch to make that list. Something about 20 ASP batons, 12 months of non-delivery and heavily disputed credit card charges. The best prices in the world do not mean squat if they only deliver 10% of the products ordered.

Well I definitely value the opinions of the people on this forum and it does seem that this vendor is not serious about doing business. Thanks for all who keyed in.

Also I do have one more question, what is a reasonable amount to pay for having sights installed professionally?

My smith charges $20 to file, fit and drift dovetail sights. There is more to it than you think. Took about 30 minutes. There is knowledge of various guns required. For instance there is a spring and ball detent under your rear sight. If you didn't know that, it would go flying out and you would be hard pressed to find it.

Ps. Not many good reviews from Botach Tactical. Check Top Gun Supply. That is where I got mine for my CS40 and 45.Tom and Michelle are top notch people!
They are always up front and treat customers right!
