Default Picked up my

Just picked up a 5906 today and took it to the range. Great handling firearm. Took awhile to load the 6- 15 round mags though.

No so long to unload them.

Serial # VCH9XXX anybody have a born date on this?

Thanks in advance.

I have often wanted to buy a trained monkey just to sit next to my range bag and load magazines in exchange for bananas. Seems like a fair trade. Then he can pick up my brass too.

Default S&W 5906 My first 9mm

I bought a Police trade in 5906 from Centerfire Systems, Inc. - Your Home For Ammo, Firearms, Magazines, and Gun Accessories recently.

It is my first 9milly. I have been shooting .45 for so long, and it took a good deal to get me "down" to a .40S&W.
I finally decided to reward myself for almost a half century of life, by buying a 9mm.

I like it. I wish I had bought one of these years ago.

I love my S&W Model 65, but being a 1911 guy I was always drawn to the gun I carried most.

My new, used, 5906 might be the start of something new.
( as far as a gun being NIB or used, once you buy it, and fire it, it is used, and I would rather have a used gun that I know works, than a NIB that I have to break in. Cosmetics are just ways to put lipstick on your pitbull.

If your gun is pretty, you aint shootin it enuff!

Stainless Steel is cool in that you can have it blasted or polished. I plan to send my 5906 to www.customizedcreationz.com for a melt and polish job once I get my hard earned money back from Uncle Greedy.

I think the little edge opposite the mag release could use some contouring and I also want the grip serrations crosshatched, the front of the slide serrated and they do awesome laser engraving work.

Will post pics once it is all done.

I should post my 65 as it was originally a nasty old scratched up service revolver that has been bead blasted and just looks tuff. Some red Duracoat and Duplicolor put the red back on the front blade and all is good.

You need an ADCO super thumb and I would say 97 or 98.
