Default What's my S&W Model 52-1 with a barrel weight worth?

Hi,
I have a S&W 52-1 with the box, 2 mags, barrel weight and papers in mint condition looks like it wasn't fired much at all. Wondering if 1250.00 is in the price range. It's something I just don't shoot so I'm thinking of selling, need to thin out the safe.
Thanks in advance for your input.

$1,250 isn't even in the ball park in my opinion. $1,000 tops with box and all original goodies.

Have fun and be safe.

I would say $1000 is a more sellable price range, but $1250 isn't an uncommon pricing index by other similar guns on the market.

Believe that $875 - $1000 plus weight $85 - $150 is realistic range

$1000 around where I live. Maybe $100 to $200 more if its ABSOLUTELY minty and you have the original cleaning tools and barrel bushing wrench too.

I bought a 1974 52-2 with box, papers, tools, etc with 5 mags, red dot, aimtech
grip adapter for the dot, and a weight. Probably 97%. I think the $1250 I paid was a good price - the -2 being the better choice for a shooter IMHO.

I then went accessory shopping. Herret's National Adjustable Tergets with a chip for $40. Spare OEM grips for $20.

Found a box with 7 OEM weights and sold 6. The lowest sold for 205. I listed them here with little interest so they went to auction. The highest went for $245.

The box came with 2 more 52 mags and a couple for a 39.

I think the -2 is the practical choice for a shooter in BE Comp. The -1 and 52 seem to be sought to have the "set". A mint gun might be worth a little more to a collector so leave it mint. There are plenty of -2's for shooting.

Go for $1100 and sit. Patience is a virtue in this game (in my limited experience) that I have yet to master.

This was all purchased within the last 6 months in NH.

Hope it helps.

I think around $1000 is about right. The Model 52 and the 52-2 are more sought after than the -1 variety.

I paid $1300 for a 52-2 with box and cleaning tools looks mint but have not seen one in a shop for a very long while and lusted at it for a whole ten minutes before I bought it!
