Got my 5903 yestersday
Hi everyone,
I picked up my new to me 5903 yesterday. Overall condition is very good. I don't think the gun was fired a lot. I am going to locate another 10 round mag. The gun came with one mag. In California unless you are LE you can't buy a hi cap mag. I really like the way the 5903 feels and points. The gun is easy to operate and I like the fact that if you have the mag out the gun won't fire. Anyway here is a picture and I will be taking the gun to the range in a few days.
Regards,

Very nice. I would say overall condition is excellent to fine. I can't even see any holster wear. If you ever get a chance to try a 3rd Gen with the flat grip do so. I much prefer the flat grip to the curved one, but that is very subjective. A lot of people dislike magazine safeties, but if you train right they are definitely a good safety feature. I have heard of a few incidents where cops lives were saved after just dropping the mag and giving up the gun (during a retention struggle) then just transitioning to their back up. Enjoy your new gun.

You have a very nice 5903 now. The checkering on the grip and the anodized finish is nearly perfect. Your new 9mm will give you lots of use, enjoy it.

5903 TSW here LE trade in from Gwinnett Co. Ga. and it is as accurate as any other weapon I have. Only thing I do not like about it is the way it breaks down and re-assembles. I am spoiled on sigs and Berettas in that respect also, would rather it did not have the rail. They are however a fine weapon. Oh yes they do fit good in the hand even though they are double stack. Check some of the classifieds on the various obards and you may be able to find another mag. for a decent price. congrats again on a great purchase.

Very nice. I've been looking for a 5903 (round trigger guard) in VG condition for quite a while with no success. Congrats on your good fortune!

You're going to love your new 5903. I prefer the first model trigger guard which is the long, squared one. I love all of my 5903's. You just can't do better that the third generation S&W pistols. -Ed.

Thanks for the comments. I have been looking for a 3rd generation since last year. They are not easy to find in California. Gun shops sell them as fast as they get them. I was lucky to get a gun that was little used. I have yet to find any holster wear or nicks on the gun. My 5903 will be with me a long time.
