1006 Buy or no?
Ran across a 1006 in a pawn shop today. It is in good shape with the exception of some wear on the rubber grips. It has adjustable sights. The hammer and trigger are flash chromed. Don't know if they ever made a MIM version, but this one is forged. No box, only one magazine. I can buy for $375 OTD, which works back to about $340 + 10% sales tax. I am leaning toward buying. If I do, I will probably feed it mostly target level loads in the 8-900 FPS range. Might have to change the recoil spring to make it work.
What think ye all?

I think it sounds like a steal. I'd buy it.
Wolff makes heavier springs, but I'm not sure about lighter ones.

Unless the gun is a beater, that price is significantly below market. Market is closer to $600. The mags costs about $45 each so keep that in mind if you plan to buy more.

$375 is a great price for a 1006. If it was at one of my local pawn shops I would snap it up.

Don't buy it!
Sent me that pawn shop's info, and I'll take care of it.

I bought my second 1066, this one with 10 mags, a few weeks ago for about the same price and I KNOW I got a GREAT price. Considering that used mags go for around $30.00 per mag I got the gun for less than a "C" note. If you don't buy it let me know and I will.

Already have a couple of fotays, thank you. Wouldn't shoot pansy loads all the time, but certainly would a lot of the time. The range gets pissy about you blowing holes in their steel plates on a regular basis.

Went back to the pawn shop today....
Looked at the 1006 again. It was truely filthy inside and out. The shop owner wouldn't honor his $375 OTD price. He let me have it for $350 OTD instead. He also threw in a mag full of Federal SD ammo.
I got it cleaned up and it looks pretty presentable now. Someone had over lubed and then NEVER cleaned it. Stainless is very forgiving, thankfully. Pics and a range report to follow tomorrow.
I knew up front that ammo was expensive and hard to get. I bought 50 rounds of Ga arms FMJ for $35. Hopefully, I can find some brass and that will be the last factory ammo I ever buy for this gun. Starline is currently backordered on 10 mm, any other suggestions?
Also, I need some new grips. Houge or Pachs? any recommendations?

Powder Valley has Win unprimed brass. Other than losing it, it seems to last forever out of S&W 10mm, not so Glocks.

I bought an evaluation pack of 250 rounds for $125 from Precision Delta these are high quality reloads. Since I have been unable to find fired brass this seems a good deal, 180gr fmj target loads at a price not much beyond the brass & bullets. I mostly reload 200gr lead, but the Precision Delta ammunition makes good practice shooting.
