It was tagged as a 4006. Since I have never seen a Shorty in person I hoped some here could confirm.

It appears to be a Shorty 40. IIRC the labels on the first batch of Shorty 40's read: model 4006. Regards 18DAI.

First generation Shorty 40
The boxes labeled them as model 4006 and under special features Shorty 40

Thanks to all. The slide is in very good shape. The frame has some spots where the finish is worn through. One mag base looks like it is red then colored with a black marker. No box or papers.
Weather permitting it will go to the range tomorrow.

I am going to go with "Lucy". Lucy is a nice name for a pistol.

Not sure if " Shorty " is currently a politically correct term.

In Ebonics, "shorty" means child. Regards 18DAI.
