Just rec a letter from Mr. Jinks on a steel frame 39. Gun went to
B.E. Hodgon. Inc. on Oct. 19. 1966. Pretty mundane stuff.
Tidbit, in 27 yrs of production there were 347,551 guns mfg.
We all like numbers. Another tidbit, some 39-2s were sold in Italy
30 Luger. Anybody have one? Now I have to look for one.
Oh, letter took one month from box back to box. Pretty darn quick. Mike
I think a letter to B.E. Hodgdon, Inc. is kinda cool. That outfit made, and still makes, smokeless powder and reloading supplies under the name Hodgdon Powder Company. It now distributes Winchester brand powder in the USA.
Was the address given their Shawnee, Kansas main office address? Perhaps they bought your M39 to test their powder. Or maybe it was just for the use of one of the Company bigwigs.
Hello Charlie, yes, Shawnee Mission, KS. I thought that name sounded familiar. Gun appears un-fired in numbered box and extra mag.
Had a little goodie in wax paper, an unused dust cover and the long slide release. These darn things dont appear on the market that much anymore.
thanks, best Mike
