Default 4566!!!

I just came home and found I had won an auction on Gunbroker for a 4566!!! LNIB and it says about 200 rounds had gone through it.

I have been looking for a good accurate DA/SA 45 and decided to go for this one. How do you guys like yours? How is the accuracy? Anyone use it for competitions? CCW? Basically give me the info.

ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!

Congrats Miles! I know you have been looking for a 4566 for awhile now. Just checked out your winning auction on GB, you got a great deal on that beauty. Looks like you got 3 mags and a decent holster to boot. I find the recoil of my 4566TSW, to be very manageable, and it functions flawlessly like my 5906.

Merry Christmas Miles! Don't ever sell that gun and shoot it as much as possible with as many different bullets as possible for maximum enjoyment.

While I have no experience with the 4566, I do have lots of experience with S&W 3rd Gen .45acp's. From duty, to off duty, to the range its hard to beat a big Smith .45. I once used my 4586 for a pretty intensive tactical qualification. It impressed me thoroughly and ended up becoming my duty gun. Very accurate, fast to shoot, no malfunctions, smooth consistent trigger and at the end of the day it out-shot several persons who were driving plastic framed Austrian wonder guns. I am certain you will be equally as pleased with your 4566.

Once it is in hand I will get some pics and a report. Got a feeling I will be at the range soon after delivery.

Need to get some nice Hogue grips for it to fatten up the grip just enough to be comfortable ( I am used to the 5906 grip).

Doggone, I was just about to say how much you are going to love that 4566 based on my experiences with mine when I noticed your reference to DA/SA and realized that mine is a 4586 DAO (with one sweet DAO trigger). But, as MLK18 points out, you aren't going to go wrong with any 3rd Gen .45, or, I would add, 2nd Gen for that matter.

Enjoy, I predict that you will be a very happy camper.
