Got a new BG380 today..
Guess I will join the club and see how long it last before I have to send it back.
Is it true that they are returning them with a free mag after repairs ?

As far as I know everybody who has sent a pistol in for repairs has gotten a free mag. I did. If your serial number is EAA you may have problems, I think the EAB numbers will be okay. S&W identified the problem and seems to have jumped on it quickly. Only time will tell. Good shootin'.

When you say S&W identified the problem, does this mean that they will fix it before it breaks?
Mine is EAA and hasn't broke yet but I only have 100 rounds through it. I'd rather not have to spend the money on ammo to break it just to send it back.

I plan on sending mine back before it breaks. I, too, don't want to invest a lot of money in ammo on a gun that may need to be replaced. There isn't any word so far if S&W will recall the faulty models for an upgrade or simply repair the guns that are sent back. I'm thinking of selling mine after it comes back from the factory again.

Well,I ran 150 rounds of Speer Lawman 95 gr.TMJ through mine today with no problems ..I paused quiet often and checked on the take down lever and it stayed snug.At approximately 90 rounds,I stopped and field stripped it and checked the laser compartment. No problems there.Even the rubber buttons for the laser stayed on ...Anyway,brought it home and cleaned it up...so far ,so good....
