Default New 4566 TSW

Received a 4566 TSW today which I bought on Gunbroker. Very nice condition, two factory mags with black followers and a blue case that originally belonged to another Gen lll gun. It seems it is a "decocker", which I didn't realize when I bought it. It has the caution label on the right side of the slide. Contrary to what I've read here on the forum, it also has a dot of red paint which shows when the decocker is in the up position.

Haven't fired it yet, though I was at the range when I picked it up. Guess I'll have that to look forward to next week. Range report and pics to follow.

As a dyed in the wool revolver guy, I somehow have managed to accumulate a 1006, a 4006, and now the 4566 all in the space of about six weeks! Yeah, I'm looking for a 5906 to round out the collection.

Congrats on the purchase! I know what you mean. In the span of 15 months I purchased 6906, CS45, CS40, 4013TSW, and a 1076. I stopped saying "Last One for a While!" Now I am looking for a 1066.

Seems like there are two versions of this gun. One has the warning on the side the other does not. I think I read some where one was police model and had something to do with the type of decocker it had.

In regards to the decocker, there were two versions. The one you have is the "decocker only" version. Then there is the "safety-decocker" version. Generally the "decocker only" version, have a bobbed-hammer as well. I would generally consider these gun law-enforcement guns, where the "decocker only" would allow them to fire without having to deactivate safety, and bobbed hammer being easier to conceal without snagging.

Apparently the decockers come both ways. Mine has a standard hammer. Lots and lots of variations in these guns. It would be a real chore to try to collect all the different ones.
