Default Performance Center 3rd Gen Action Job?

My 4566 has a little "catch" in the trigger so I'm considering sending it in to the Performance Center for their 3rd Generation Action Package. Have any of you had this service recently? Is this a better bet than finding a local smith?

Assume that turn around time and cost are not really an issue for me.

If you haven't done so, you may want to search this forum and the smithing forum for this topic. There have been several threads about this. I had the same thing on two of my third gens and the threads helped me out.

There will be someone else along that can answer your question specifically. Of course, anyone with a pulse could answer better than me.

Does it only happen in single-action? My 4566TSW did the same thing and it is pretty common issue, and a very easy fix. I found the other thread on the forum that deals with the issue. First, you take off the slide, and if you cock the hammer back, and pull the trigger a short ways you can see where the bent-tab is causing friction. If you take a pencil with a fairly new and flat eraser, you can gently push on the top of the tab and bend it just a little towards the muzzle of the gun. I didn't apply much pressure or bend it a lot, just a lot of guess and check. Best part is you can check it with the slide off to make sure you have adjusted enough to stop catching in single-action.

Hope this helps.

No problem, here is a link to the other posting on the issue. New to Me 4566 has a clicking problem

Here is a great shot of the tab you need to adjust. (Also in other posting.) When you cock the hammer, and pull the trigger a little ways, you can tell where the tab is clicking. Just a minor amount of adjustment should eliminate the issue.

You're more than welcome, as I was in the same boat a few months ago. The real thanks goes to this forum.
