Default Trigger adjustment on "A" prefix serial Model 41

On Model 41 maintenance they nicely describe how to access the trigger adjustment lever and adjust pull between 2 to 3 pounds. It does not however, indicate which direction to push the lever to lessen the pull. Do you move the lever forward, toward the front of the barrel-away from the magazine recess to lessen the pull, or rearward toward the recess to lessen the pull. Thanks.
