Is it Worth It?
I just located a NIB 3914 and the asking price is $569. Is this considered a fair price or too much? It comes with box, all papers and two magazines.

Real deal NIB, yes, that's a decent price.
Not great, though.

There was a recent release of these and dealer price was higher than that. Not sure of actual production date on them but several others were from the '07-09 time frame.

Something rather odd (to me) about this pistol. The end of the box says it's a 3914TSW and yet there's no indication of it being a Tactical model on the slide or the model number suffix.

Thats a good price on a superb pistol, IMO.
The lack of the "tactical" banner is a plus, again IMO.
I'd take that rail off too. I've never understood the purpose of a rail on a compact concealment pistol. Guess I'm not tacticool. Regards 18DAI.

Aren't TSW pistols suppose to have the logo? this is the first I've seen that didn't nor did it have the 3914TSW after the model number.

It must be a special run. The frame sure looks like a TSW frame.

I don't care for the rail-can it be removed without sending it to S&W?

You don't find many of them out there, especially NIB...
I would buy it.

Yes, the rail is easily removed by drilling out the rivets.
Or, you could send it in to S&W and they will replace the two rivets after removing the rail. Or you could have a local smith do it.
My local guy did all of mine. Regards 18DAI.

I had to forego this one due to some words me and GB had several years back and now I can't bid or buy since my account is all messed up so, I passed on the information to another member here who was interested in it. So, I'll look elsewhere...perhaps Guns America.

3914 purchase
I purchased a 3914 a couple weeks ago off another forum for $ 385 shipped. It came with original box and 2 mags, it had some light wear on the slide edges from carry but is in very nice overall condition. Had to pay my FFL $20. So it wasn't a bargain but I consider a reason price.
