Default Make a 410 more comfortable?

Weird title I know...but here's the issue..and I posted back in the fall about the 410 .40 I picked up and only recently took it out and gave it a dance.
It's all stock...plastic guide rod, original plastic grips, etc. Seemed to feel all the recoil in the hand..and I've shot plenty of .45's and the caliber isn't the issue...so just wondering if anyone had any ideas on making the pistola a bit more comfortable to shoot...****bber grips, different spring? Any ideas would be appreciated...I know its a no frills gun..but it is a good basic shooter..not going to win any competitions but mostly using it for range and now and again CC.

Convert it to 9mm?
One of the reasons I've never owned a .40 is that the recoil is snappier and less comfortable to me than 9 or .45

New recoil spring would be wise. Rubber grips will make a fairly huge difference because they're, um,.........huge. The Hogues are huge and soft. Pachmayrs are very hand filling if you can find a set. The Uncle Mikes are somewhat less huge. I've been seeing quite a few Uncle Mikes on the auction site lately. You might want to just try swapping from the straight backed grip that's probably on it now to an arched OEM grip. The arched fits my hand better than the straight and it 'feels' like it recoils a bit less, but for any complaint of harsh recoil replacing the recoil spring would be my first step.

I had a 411 I felt the same way about. Qualified for my first CDW license with it, without shooting it first. Snappy, but I think that was primarily because it just wasn't a good fit for my hand.

I traded it for <gasp!> a second-gen G22 that felt better and shot softer.
