Default New S&W 1911

This is a GREAT 1911! I've owned many 1911's throughout my years of gun ownership (S.A. Loaded, Colt Lightweight Commander, AMT Hardballer and others), but this 1911 is my most favorite.
It's a full size 5 inch barrel, all stainless, bead blasted satin finish with all black controls, black checkered main spring housing,
Novak sights and Cocoa Bolo checkered diamond grips ( which came off of my Colt Lightweight Commander.) Make this 1911 stand-out!!!
(Sorry, no pictures tonite).
Just picture it in your mind.
Just one FINE piece of firearm artwork!!!
It shoots great!!! Accurate as hell!!!

I agree with you. I got two of them. Everyone that owns one will agree with you. Only those without one will disagree.

Congratuations on the purchase.

I was going to start a post entitled "love song to my S & W 1911" when I noticed this one and decided that someone else had beaten me to it. I am predominately a revolver guy, and I shoot semis, including my 1911, only rarely. I own the blued government model with Novak sights, about as basic a 1911 as Smith makes. I took it to the range this morning for the first time in a couple of months. As on all previous occasions I was amazed by the reliability and accuracy of this gun. I am no bullseye shooter -- far from it, in fact -- but, this morning, shooting offhand, I was putting everything into the 10 ring at 15 yards and I managed a 2 1/2" group at 25. Hitting with this gun seemed to be almost absurdly easy. I can't imagine what more I could put into my 1911 to make it a better shooter nor can I imagine buying a more expensive version of this gun. Mine is as close to absolute perfection as any gun I own.
