Default Opinions on Possible Trade

Have a chance to trade my LNIB 4566TSW (4 mags, straight & FBI Palm-Swell grips) for a similar LNIB S&W1911 (108282 billboard model), with 2 mags--probably fired a few hundred rounds more than my 4566TSW. Does this sound like a good trade?

That's a hard decision. I've always wanted a S&W 1911 but I also like my 4566. I'm glad I don't have to decide. Good luck.

The 4566TSW is worth less than the S&W1911, even with the four mags, so yes, it is a good trade for you. Personally, I prefer my 4566 (non TSW) over my S&W 1911 (108284 target model), since the 4566 is much easier to field strip. I installed some Hogue wood grips on my 4566 because I prefer the thicker grip.

I am with "rock doc", if you are comparing $ for $ you will come out ahead on this deal if it is a straight up swap. I personally like the 4566 over any 1911 models regardless of manfacturer. Being left handed has alot to do with it.

Do you want to trade because you think the 1911 is better, or have you convinced yourself the 1911 is the Holy Grail of semis?

Dollarwise, it may be to your advantage, but not everything is based on the dollar.

Well specifics haven't been worked out, but I think I am going to have to kick in some money too.

In that case, I'd keep the 4566.

$$$ vs $$$ = The 1911 is worth more

For me, I would keep the 4566, especially if I had to add money.
