Default Value of a new Smith 6909

The deal with the 3913TSW felled through, someone beat me to it, the same guy offered me a brand new, in the box 6909 for $475, I am meeting the guy this saturday and I just wonder if this is a good price to pay for it, is this pistol as good as the 3914/13?
Thanks

I am guessing you mean a 6906, which is the double-stacked version of the 3913. I preferred the grip on the 6906 myself, both are great guns, $475 seems a little on the higher side of the spectrum to me. A good place to check is auction sights like GunBroker, or GunsAmerica.

I have both, basically the same pistol except the grip of the 6906 is .250" wider to handle the double stack 12 roung magazine. For a NIB, I don't see the $475 being out of line. Used ones on GB are listed for about the same. There is one listed now.
The only optional grips for the 6906, that I found, is the Hogue wrap around with finger grooves, which to me is too much bulk.

Thanks for the additional info, I was wondering about the difference in thickness between the 6909 and the 3914/13, much appreciated

NIB 6906, which will have either 2 or three mags (not sure), for 475? Private sale? If so, no tax or FFL fees. Good deal in my book. Yeah, you could find one cheaper used on GB, but after shipping, and FFL fee, you are back at 475.

6906 is my favorite 9mm. I would go 475 for a new one any day if I had the funds to spare and no FFL and shipping cost.

I was lucky enough to recently find a 6946 (the DAO version of the 6906) on GB for $320, so I have $350 in it with shipping/FFL fees, but it has some wear, no box, no extra mags, and did need some repairs for some slide malfunctions. So yours may be a little high, but if he has extra mags, they run about $30 apiece.

I love the 6906! One of the greatest concealed carry 9mm ever devised!!

I just picked up a beautiful late model 6906 with 2 preban hicaps and Novak night sights for $299. I couldn't believe the price!! The condition is fantastic but it didn't come with a box. Still a great deal.

I wouldn't sell a NIB 6906 (which will come with 2 or 3 mags) for $475. So I think it's a good deal.
