Cool Opinions Please

I would like to know from our good forum members, what they think of the Model 659. I prefer to hear from those who have actully had one. My opinion is that it it a fine gun but quite heavy. It is a great range gun, hardly any felt recoil. OK, now it is your turn. Thanks...

Hi Joseph, I just found this forum today. I've had a 659 for several years now, I got it used, I believe it was a police service pistol. You're right it is a bit heavy but it's alot of fun to shoot. Not much recoil. It has not been without some problems. First, the barrel bushing broke after several hundred rounds fired by me. And the rear sight blade broke. There's no telling how many rounds were run through it before I got it. I replaced the parts and have not had problems since. I like it because of it's SS finish. I have several other guns but this one is my under the seat "beater". I put wrap-around rubber grips on it as I have large hands.I have 5 S&W mags that work perfect, but aftermarket mags, not so good. The only downside I can think of because it's an older design, I cant find an "off the shelf" molded plastic holster for it. I've decided to start reloading ammo for it, should be able to handle some potent loads. Anyway I give it a plus rating. Cody

although i like the 639 more, the 659 is a fine pistol, reliable and accurate.
