Welcome aboard. The search function is your friend, but a few things off the top of my head. The 4566 is the S&W equivalent to the Colt Commander in size. Conceals fairly well, is just about as accurate as its full size bro, the 4506 and its grandpappy, the 645. I have owned several over the years, but for some reason or another, I prefer the full size versions. They feed any kind of ammo you load, you can find a small variety of grips and it is backed by S&W. Enjoy!

You'll love it and enjoy it. It's like all 3rd Generation S&W's-totally reliable and will feed most anything. I bought it's big brother(4506) many years ago and this was a nice addition to the family.

I was fortunate to have found one NIB not too many months back and have now shot perhaps 400 rounds with it. I'd get a few extra magazines, some spare mag springs and several recoil springs and you'll be set. S&W sells the magazines, springs and anything else you need or want for it.

I love mine! Carries easily, absolutely reliable and I absolutely love teh DA/SA setup for a carry gun.

It is very very accurate, 2" groups at 15 yards in fast fire are common.

Only problem I have/had is that the sights are regulated for a POA=POI style of shooting. I prefer a 6 o'clock hold. I know I could change out the front sight, but I have a set of brand new trijicon night sights installed that I really like (except for the POI issue). The correction is only ~2" or 10-15 yards, so that's plenty accurate for social work.

Welcome! I've had my 4566 for about 5 months now and really enjoy shooting it. Like others mentioned, it eats anything, including my reloads that make my Glock 30 choke. I think it's a bit big and heavy for concealed carry, but I imagine there're folks out there that can pull it off comfortably. I have a G30 for CC work and bought the 4566 for the range and home.

Mine had the rubber Hogue grips with the palm swell, and it was a bit large for my hand. I got the factory straight grips from Midway and it fits much better now. I don't shoot well with it, but then I don't shoot 1" groups with anything smaller than a rifle! But I'm working on it. I also have the "bobbed" hammer. I'd prefer a a regular hammer, but what the heck. As long as it works DA, it doesn't matter.

Mine developed a "click" in the trigger when in SA, a not uncommon issue with 3rd gen S&Ws. Doesn't affect fuction, but is a bit annoying. The trigger play spring seems to have lost its tension. I've "adjusted" it with a pencil per suggestions of others but it only goes about 8-10 rounds before clicking again. I'm giving it one more run at the range before I send it in for replacement.

Wolff Springs has replacement recoil spring sets, and mag springs too, I believe. Pretty inexpensive. My 4566 has worked fine so far, so nothing's been replaced. CDNN has mags if you're looking.

That "clicking noise" has an incredibly easy fix.

Try the Hogue grips, they are thicker, and also have the slight curve to the back. The factory curved grips may also help.

I bought a pair of Hogue coco bolo wood grips for my 4566. It really adds thickness and adds to the appearance too. You should post in the "Wanted to Buy" in the classifieds forum.

I've done that several times and it comes back after a few rounds. I got a bit more "aggressive" with it last time but haven't been to the range to try it again. We'll see what happens.

I'm taking my 457 and the 4566TSW out in the morning to try out some new reloads...230 gr FMJ and FMJ-FN backed up by Power Pistol. It's a new powder for me so we'll see.

Reloads did great. I wasn't having an "accurate" day as for groups but, it was fun any way. Reloading all boils down to paying very close attention to every detail and checking and rechecking again. I've been at it since 1969 and knock on wood, no mistakes to date. There's a certain satisfaction about getting 2 inch groups at any distance with reloads that's quite appealing.

Shot it this weekendand it ran great. No FTF FTE at all. I am not used to the grip on it at all been shooting Glocks and 1911's so the straights grip is alien to me.
