Picked up a new 22a yesterday at a show. Brought it home, and immediately set to stripping and lubing the gun.
In the process of doing so, it was dryfired a few times ( 4 or 5 maybe ) in getting used to the action and showing it off to some folks. Once I discovered the empty casing S&W provided, it was used for all "dryfires".
I now know that dryfiring a rimfire gun is a no-no, and I did see a little divot on the breech face ( nothing major ). To be safe, I ordered a chamber swage from Midway just to keep handy.

My question is,
are 4 or 5 dryfires enough to cause any serious damage to the firing pin? Any small peens or burrs in the breech that could cause FTF or FTE issues should be resolved with the swage tool IIRC. I'm just hoping I've not done any real damage here...
