Default ASP 2000

Some folks may remember the ASP from the 70's.

I just saw that there is an ASP 2000. I went to the website.
I cannot find anything on cost, ordering, etc.

Does anyone have information on this?

I read on the website that the ASP 9mm had the recoil of a .22.
Amazing.

Thanks.

I saw that webpage a couple of years ago. I was looking for one as well, but I've never seen an ASP 2000 for sale. As far as recoil; I owned an original ASP, and it recoiled just like any other aluminum framed 9mm pistol. It may recoil like a .22 if it had a suppressor on it.

The ASP 2000 was a custom modification of a S&W 3913 that an individual had done as a tribute to the original ASP, not a multi-pistol run by any manufacturer or custom shop. Despite what it says on wikipedia, I do not believe any are available to purchase.

As for the claim that the original ASP recoiled like a .22, let's just say Mr. Theodore was engaging in puffery to sell products, not indicating a scientific fact. Many who remember him would say that such a claim was typical Paris Theodore. Whatever your thoughts about the man, he certainly produced a cool carry piece that was well before its time.

Thanks.
You're right. The ASP was well before its time.
Was the trigger significantly better than on the modern S&W pistols?

I think the ASP was an outstanding pistol that was literally ahead of its time.

That said, I think the 3913 is what the ASP aspired to be.

The ASP 2000 was a very nice tribute to the original, IMO. Regards 18DAI.
