Info on 4516-1 US Marshal Edition..Pics added
I recently purchased a 4516-1 US Marshals Bicentennial Edition from an estate. It appears to be unfired, but as expected, nothing else came with the pistol. No box or presentation case or the certification letter. Based on the information in the Standard Catalog S&W only 300 were produced. Did all of them come with a presentation case? Does anyone on here own one of these that came with the presentation case, are the cases still available from S&W? I won't receive the 4516 until tuesday, it being shipped to my dealer. I'll post some pics when it gets here. Thanks for any info on this.

I'm of absolutely no use to you in this pursuit *but* I look forward to the pictures.
Congratulations!

This must be rarer than I thought, the only reference I can find is a post by BigDog that he had one at some time. Does anyone have one of these at the present time?

There was one sold recently on Gun Broker for $550 in "like new" condition.

The 4516 got here sooner than I thought. I cannot see any signs of it every being shot or shot very much. The was not a drop of oil anywhere on the slide or trigger mechanism, not even residue down in the trigger area inside the slide. Maybe it was ultrasonically cleaned. The slide is very stiff along with the de-cocker. The one magazine that came with it has the yellow follower and marked on the mag to be used with the yellow only. I tried a couple of 4513 mags and everything fits well. It does have the single spring and large diameter guide rod. The picture is not the best, the second one includes my Kentucky State Police 4566TSW which Kentucky never used.

That sure is a nice looking pistol. Do you plan to shoot it?

Haven't decided to shoot or just look at, yet, I'm still trying to find out more info on the pistol first, since it came with no box or paperwork. Have not had much luck so far. I have a 4513TSW shooter which is basically the same pistol only with an alloy frame.
