Default 6906 with hammer?

Found a local dealer who has a nice 6906...but this model has a hammer...instead of what I usually see...the bobbed hammer. Is this a target hammer that someone put in? Looks like the same hammer you would find on a 5906...but I am not sure...have never seen one like this.

The hammer looks to be stainless steel.

The shop is closed today...so I can't ask what is up with what he has.

Thanks.

It is not uncommon for people to put a spurred hammer from say a 5906 in a 6906. Looks funny to me but is fully functional.

It is an improvement on the 6906 ro have an exposed hammer.

There is no reason to have a flush hammer on this pistol.

Though I have a "flush" hammer on my 6906, you have a good point Fuego-unless you're carrying the 6906 in your pocket, there's little reason for having a flush hammer on this pistol.

Other than a smooth snag free draw when presenting from concealment. Which is, of course, what the 6906 was designed to do.
