Default New Model 41 Date of Manufacture

I just got my first S&W Model 41, 5-1/2" bbl this week! It has a S/N of "UBV5530". Can anybody tell me when this gun was made? I am also having ejector problems (about every 15 bullets). What is the best way to address this issue? Thanks, Kent

Default Thanks Loco Weed and Camster

Loco Weed: It's a new gun to me that I bought last week at a gun show. I actually went there to buy a K-22. A friend who knows a lot about pistols gave me some input before I bought it. It didn't come with a box or anything, but my friend had bought/sold with the guy before, so he was somewhat reputable. I was told that it was 10 years old. However, a local gun shop (Port Angeles, WA) said that the "UBJ" models were made in 2002. And since "UBV" follows alphabetically, I assumed it would be a later model. Thank you for the correct date.

Camster: When I bought the gun I was told that the gun looked like it hadn't been fired, but a friend of mine said that it could have been sold because of the extractor problems. I bought some CCI SV and Federal (all pistol match grade) ammo at the gun show. This was before I learned that it was designed to go with CCI SV. I shot it for the first time on Tuesday (11/23) using both kinds of ammo - It did better with the CCI. We are going out to shoot it again Friday (11/26) at the indoor range. Maybe we can learn something more (i.e., magazine, spring, etc.). Before we go shoot, I will clean it well. Thank you for the input.
