I love the 4566 more all the time.
I scored some more mags for the 4566, and had to test them out to make sure they worked ok. I bought 500 rounds of hardball at Wal Mart and went into the mountains to try out the new mags. (I now have eight total. Four of them are the "new" ones)
500 more flawless rounds. Two of the mags had "mus have yellow follower" but I swapped in a black follower in each, and took a scotch brite pad to the writing till it was gone. They all work perfectly, and my chosen carry load, the Remington Golden Saber bonded 230 grain load shoots so well out of this that it stacks every round into one hole at 15 yards all day. I shot 700 rounds total today, 500 ball, 150 golden saber, and 50 lead. The 4566 is THE handgun for this guy. I really need a 4516 to go along with it, but till then, this is the best ever pistol I have owned.

I know. I didn't really want to shoot it all in one day, but I just could NOT put the thing down. I bought a nice Mitch Rosen ARG holster for a Sig 220 that fits it perfectly, and draws from that were smooth, and reloads from the comp-tac mag pouch as well.
Next is to find an original jackass shoulder rig for it.

The 4566 is an excellent pistol. If it ever appears on the cover of a gunrag the asking prices will triple.
Now go try a 645 and REALLY fall in love! Regards 18DAI.

I had one, and I am in the process of replacing it. (This was 10+ years ago)
I don't get why Smith never made a 645 with a somewhat shorter slide. Like a "commander" 645. I prefer the 4.25 inch barrel for a holster gun. The 5" barreled guns seem to hit the chair before my behind does.

Went to the local gun show looking for another 3rd gen Smith. Looked all over and saw 6906s for $550 (hahahahahaha!) and a 4046 for $600. I did not see a single 45XX at all. I did buy a 10mm magazine by accident with a few 45XX mags. BUT nobody has 45 series guns for sale around here anymore.
Shooting it again tomorrow. I can't figure out what took me so long to get one.
