Well.....I could put my name in the list, technically.

A local tv station did a video clip for the news and I was carrying a S&W 1911 in my shoulder holster. Since I was not wearing a coat, the rig was plainly visible. Since I was the only person they interviewed and I had the S&W gun, I suppose that would have made me the baddest guy on that tv show.

Pretty sure he carried a 1006 in The Rookie.

If you include women, Emily Procter, the blonde on CSI Miami carries a 3913 LadySmith. She's pretty bad in my book.

Will Smith used a S&W 5946 in I Am Legend.

Samuel L. Jackson used a S&W 6906 in Lakeview Terrace

But since we are stuck on Clint Eastwood, he did use a 4506-1 in The Rookie.

My vote for the baddest "Bad" Guy would be Gary Oldman in "The Professional". I believe he is packing a 3" unfluted 629. Check out the "bathroom scene". One of my favorite quotes from the film:

"Do you like life, sweetheart? That's good, because I take no pleasure intaking life from a person that doesn't appreciate it."

"The actual gun used on set by Clint Eastwood was reportedly not a Smith & Wesson Model 29."

Not this again! Doc44 has covered this ad nauseum!

As far as pastels and Crockett, you should compare his body count to Callahan's, you might be surprised. Crockett might not be bad but it would be best if the BAD not mess with him.

I like Harry myself.

You guys are so conventional! How 'bout George Clooney as Seth Gekko in From Dusk 'til Dawn? He used a 4" 29 to waste a few Texas Rangers and local cops and then, he got really serious. How many of these other characters used their Smiths to kill Selma Hayak playing the role of the Snake Woman Vampire?

Or, how about the character of El Ray in Planet Terror, who killed about 1,000,000 zombies with his Smiths? As he said: "I never miss."

Sledge Hammer carried a 6" M629.
In another post -quips what weapon Danny Glover carried, he carried an M19 and later a 5906 as a secondary weapon.

I think it was a 5906. Some of the best movie gunhandling I've ever seen. He even executes a textbook Speed Rock at one point.

Not sure I'd call him the "protagonist," though...

Clint Eastwood as Phoenix Police officer Ben Shockley. He converted a Greyhound bus into an armored vehicle and drove it through withering gunfire. It doesn't get any badder than that...

The movie poster shows Clint holding a large frame, short barreled S&W revolver.

Clint takes it , Sonny needed to buy some socks, I won't watch a Clooney movie after what he said about Charlton Heston, aside from being a rotten actor, 1 vote for Reeves in StreetKings, shows him cleaning a 1911 but when he shoots the first bunch he used a 4506.

Danny Glover... sorry but, are you serious?

That is one of my major pet peeves, anybody that gets rich off of making movies while using firearms and then at the same time campaigns for anti-gun groups like HCI, is immediately disqualified.

My vote has to go with Clint Eastwood just on longevity alone... 78 years old when he was playing the bad *** in Grand Torino?

Since the OP specified "baddest", add my vote to Denzel in Training Day. Pair of 4506's - always cool, but in that movie, definitely "BAD".

Here's one out of left field: Robert Ford in "The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford". He might not have been the baddest dude, but he killed the baddest dude. In the film Jesse gives Bob a brand new New Model 3 in 44 special that he later uses to shoot Jesse in he back of the head. The baddest part of this is that it really happened and wasn't just some writers imagination.

Default Glover Sux....

No way he's bad. He is one of the biggest antigun hypocrites on the planet. Take the guns outta' their movies, him and Gibson can't make a livin'. Just wanted to throw that out to rattle chains. At least he had enough sense to carry a Smith.

Clint beats ,em all for bad.

One of my favorite movies, with a lot of good realistic gun action. But White's revolver was definitely a Colt DS. There are a lot of Colts in that movie, but I don't recall any S&Ws.

Not sure about S&W autos, but definately remember the .44magnum AutoMag he brought out in Sudden Impact. "When correctly used, it removes the fingerprints."

Doesn't matter really what he's holding, wheel gun, auto, bare knuckles, or plastic spork. Callahan and his sneer set the bar for all the others.

You sir are correct, and not to steer too far off topic, but the plunger he wielded in The Enforcer was classic Calahan.
and
+1 on the SW29. With the red / orange front sight insert. Seeing that deep shiny blued bad mofo on the big screen back in 1971 made me want one so bad it hurt! 40 years later and I've owned several. Still dig the 44 magnum.

Clint Eastwood get's my vote...I like his stuf as Roudy Yates in Raw Hide thru to Gran Torino. Good actor/director.
Yes I went and bought a Model 29 but it is the 8 3/8" Nickle in the wooden presentation case. I was Bad Azz with it to take a deer at 180 yards thru the heart.

Don Johnson also had a great run in Miami Vice. His Bren Ten was said to be 10mm but they used the 45 because of the larger hole for the camera work. I suppose the same could be said about the 4506.

The most despised actor to use guns in their movie roles (gained fame, made tons of money) only to be anti-gun has to go to Arnold Schwarzenegger govenor of the left'es state of the union!

May not be the "Baddest" but he does deserve a mention. Virgil Earp in the movie "Tombstone" was using a S&W Model 3 in 44 American. Seemed to work for him ok.

Detective Ken Hutchinson from Starsky and Hutch wielded a pretty big canon... Hopefully someone out there knows if its a S&W or not.

If you mean the T.V. Show from the '70's, David Soul used a 4-inch Python in a few episodes but most of the time a 6-inch Python if I recall correctly. Same type of revolver he used in Magnum Force.

Maybe it won't qualify for BA status, but my favorite movie when I was a kid was Bonnie and Clyde. They shot everybody with what looked like M1917 S&Ws.
Has anybody mentioned Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark? The scene where he steps out and the Ninja dude is going through all his gyrations is classic. Indy pauses, pulls out his Hand Ejector and center punches the guy and walks away. THAT qualifies as BA in my book.

Abso-lutely!! He had a sorta' ho-hum look on his face and finished with a 'so what' shoulder shrug. S&W trumps the swirling dervish every time! Never been impressed by that ninja bullcrap. Not that I am BA or anything, I'm really not, but when the chips are down guess what I'm reaching for?

Clint is a no brainer in this thread if it's in "General" or "Revolver", but I still like Denzel's "Training Day" in the Semi-auto forum.

Honorable mention to Fogel in "Superbad".

Well, not really. The reason was that 10mm blanks did not exist. They did blue the muzzle end of the barrel to make the bore appear larger and, the castellated barrel bushing of the Bren Ten made the gun appear to have teeth.

I recall an episode of Miami Vice where Don Johnson was sliding on a slick or marble floor in a white clothes with what I believe to be his 4506 in sight alignment and shooting while sliding.

back in the 80s, I would consider that bad azz and the cool factor was off the chart.

hands down Eastwood has the revolver as bad azz.

However my vote for DJ with the semi, whether Bren 10 or SW4506.

Clooney's 29 in From Dusk 'til Dawn was a snubbie.

And, for revolvers Clint wins. For autos, it's Crocket.

I mean, he had a pet alligator living with him on a boat, for God's sake.

Regardless of what you've heard or read on the internet, that wasn't a 4506 but rather a 645 transition model. An acquaintance of mine is a BIG TIME Bren Ten collector and Miami Vice fan. He bought both one of the blank firing Bren Tens and one of the blank firing "4506's" from Charlie Gaunci, the prop master for the show. I have photos of both guns and the Smith definitely says M645 on the side of the frame.
