I haven't. BUT ... when I went to buy the Kimber .22 conversion for my Kimber, I saw and ended up buying the GSG 1911-.22 pistol. It's a true 1911 in every sense, except caliber.

It blows away the Chiappa and Puma guns which aren't really 1911's at all. The GSG has the "feel" as well as the "weight" of a true 1911. I even added the Hogue wrap-around finger grips to match my Kimber and Les Baer.

For me, it was a simple choice. It may not be for you, but it only takes a few minutes to look it over and decide whether or not it fits your needs.

Kimber 1911 conversions are great and so is their customer service (my rear sight came loose), they are quite accurate and reliable. My nephews and I all have one. They seem to work on almost all frames or at least we haven't found one they won't work on.

I use one on my Smith 1911 and it works great. I had heard that they are picky as to ammo, I run CCI minimags through mine and have had no problems whatsoever.

Originally, Kimber bought their .22 conversions from J.A. Ceiner. Then, someone with the company realized they could make their own.

Exactly. Be careful if you buy used. The Ceiner units deliver only marginal accuracy and can be ammo finicky ( based on my experience).

Lots of threads here on conversions. I think all will agree that Marvel rules the roost.
