S&W 5906 ANIB-Good deal??
I was bored yesterday, so I made the 65 mile trek through the woods to Grice Gun Shop in Clearfield, PA. They always have a huge stock of new and used guns. Figured there might be some interesting used trade-ins that came in for the "Christmas rush".
Spent about two hours trying to check over the used handguns in the crowded store. Spied several good finds that were out of my price range or were overpriced (they don't negotiate!!) and was getting discouraged until-on the bottom shelf-back row- I saw a stainless Smith pistol.
It is an as-new 5906 adjustable sight model. The pistol couldn't have more than 50 rounds through it, has the box, papers and two Clinton ban 10 round mags. Not a single mark anywhere on the gun. $399 plus $7 "instant check fee" and sales tax. Good Deal?

Absolutely. I paid $400 for mine with no box or papers thought it has two 15 round mags.

Nope, I rescued it from the case full of Glocks, Sigs, Tauri, Kahrs, and Kel-Techs (Though I was drooling over two P220 Dark Elites $$$).
Here is the proof:

That's definitely a good price for ANIB. Now get some proper magazines, either the stock S&W 15 rd or Mec-Gar 17 rd, and enjoy that 5906 the way it was designed!

Good price, but I don't agree with their "instant check" fee. Sounds like a way to just pad the bottom line to me. Everybody has to do it, and it doesn't cost them anything, so why charge?

That is a good price. I bought mine NIB from CDNN for that price at the end of 2008.

Actually, some states do charge for it. I used to send a check regularly (along with sales tax collections) to the state. Joe
