I just purchased my 22A on 12/17 and I'm taking it to the range for the first time today. My friend gave me some CCI stingers that he no longer has use for. I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't use high velocity ammo in the 22A. Is that accurate?
We just got a 22A as well and shot the other day with CCI and Federal. Can't remember which specific CCI loads they were, but we encountered no problems. I will check when I get off shift.
The Stingers will work in your 22A, they actually fall into the Hyper-Velocity range and they will chew up your buffer faster than regular high-velocity .22LR. Most target .22 ammo that is known for it's accuracy is standard velocity, but in 5.5" barrels there really isn't that much differance between the two.
